Behind-the-Scenes: Doritos Crashes the Super Bowl!

Posted in Adorama Rentals, Video by Dave Goldgaber on December 17, 2010

Every year, Doritos makes an open call for anyone to shoot a spot for their famous chips. The winner receives a cash prize and their spot airs during the Super Bowl. My friend Dave Burdette, a former classmate at the School of Visual Arts, was the 1st AC (Assistant Camera) on a crew that shot three hilarious commercials for the contest. To shoot the spots, they looked to Adorama Rental Co. for their equipment needs. This included a 5D MK II, Zeiss Compact Primes, and an Arri Mattebox with support.

Here’s one of the spots.

The production was generous enough to provide us with set stills.
