Emerge Face2Face Portfolio Review

Posted in Adorama Rentals by Adorama Rental Co. on March 29, 2011

How does a photographer stand out to an art buyer or editor? How do you stay on their radar?  NYCFotoWorks is convinced it’s personal connections and so far, it seems they are on to something. For the last four years, NYCFotoWorks has hosted professional portfolio reviews and each year is more impressive than the last.  It’s not a meet-and-greet-mingle sort of thing. They pre-screen all the photographers, going through their websites and portfolios to ensure the event is exclusively professional and talent emerging, and because of their discerning process, they have been able to bring an incredible list of reviewers together. Photographers that attend the Review have the opportunity to meet with many highly sought after art buyers, editors, creative directors, agents and galleries. These guys clearly have a working formula and their new Emerge Face2Face Spring Portfolio Review is creating quite a stir in the industry. Adorama Rentals is proud to join them as a sponsor.

The basic run-down of the event:

–       Photographers apply, and if accepted, they choose their package of how many reviewers they want to meet with over the three days.

–       All meetings are one-on-one, based upon the photographers’ requests.

–       Priority of requests are first-come-first-serve based upon when the photographers sign up and purchase their package.

–       Schedules of meetings are determined based upon when the reviewer that the photographer has requested is attending. Schedules are sent out a week before hand.

–       The times that reviewers attend are

  • 10 am – 1 pm
  • 2 pm – 5 pm
  • 6 pm – 9pm

The Portfolio Review is scheduled for June 15th – 17th at Canoe Studios in Manhattan.  Here are just a few of the reviewers that will be in attendance:
